What is NBI?

The National Bureau of Investigation or NBI is an agency of the Philippine government under the Department of Justice, responsible for handling and solving major high-profile cases that are in the interest of the nation. The NBI was based after the Federal Bureau of Investigation when it was being established. (Source: Wikipedia)

Police clearance is a document proving that a person does not have any criminal record. In the Philippines, it is used as an identification card. It is not recognized as a valid ID for Comelec elections and DFA passports.

Government-issued documents are important for people who want to work in certain fields. You need an NBI clearance if you want to be employed by the police force, the military or any government agency. To get this document, you must undergo a background check. This includes checking your criminal record, as well as looking into your past.

What is an NBI Clearance and how is it important?

An NBI clearance is one of those important documents you will be when you apply for work. It will tell if there are any criminal cases filed in the courts of the Philippines against you which covers the entire Philippines. However, an NBI clearance can’t tell if there are any civil cases filed against you.

It is like a Police clearance but this one is served by the National Bureau of Investigation. Once you’re able to get one, it means that you’re clean and have no serious pending cases or charges.

NBI Clearances are important because they help protect people who work in law enforcement. These clearances allow them to carry out their duties without being arrested by the police. A NBI clearance also allows people to access certain areas such as prisons and military bases. You can get an NBI clearance online.

As the name implies, the clearances are issued by the NBI, the Philippine National Bureau of Investigations. It’s a necessary document that proves you are innocent of any crimes in the Philippines and thus can be cleared for a variety of applications. A clearance is a common requirement when applying for jobs locally or abroad, starting businesses, studying overseas, taking exams, and obtaining government IDs like the PhilSys national ID card.

What is a Hit?

NBI Hit status means after an NBI personnel carefully screens the applicant’s name, the search returns with a suspicious result. It means that you or someone with the same name as yours has a pending case or criminal charges. In this case, you will not be able to get your NBI clearance the same day you applied, the NBI personnel have to do a verification process and will ask you to go back after a week or so.
