Showbiz: Kim Chiu owns “Bawal Lumabas” song, sells shirt to raise funds for charity

Updated: May 27, 2020

3 weeks ago, Kapamilya Actress Kim Chiu hosted a Facebook live titled “WALANG SUSUKO SA LABAN!” joined by other Kapamilyas to show their support to the network and opinions on NTC’s decision to shutdown ABS CBN.

The kapamilya actress draws flak on her “Classroom Law” wherein she was bashed for comparing a classroom situation on NTC’s Cease and Desist order to ABS CBN. Read statement below:

“Sa classroom may batas, bawal lumabas, oh bawal lumabas. Pero ‘pag sinabi, ‘pag nag-comply ka na bawal na lumabas pero may ginawa ka sa pinagbabawal nila, inayos mo ‘yong law ng classroom niyo at sinumbit mo ulit ay pwede na pala ikaw lumabas,”

After this controversial comment, many artists and netizens showed love and  support Kim Chiu. One netizen, Adrian Crisanto, actually wrote an open letter to Kim Chiu and the actress was able to read it.

While many are still confused of the said statement, it created buzz online with dance covers, parodies and memes:

Someone even made  a catchy beat out of it. Credits to DJ Squammy Beats!

The three (Kim Chiu, Adrian and DJ Squammy Beats) had a chance to meet online. Kim owned it and made the song official. As of writing, the songs has 3,127,433 views on YouTube since its first upload on May 18, 2020.

With this success, she now sells #BawalLumabas shirts. All proceeds will be donated to charity for food packs and the actress also wishes to give part on Angel Locsin‘s mass testing campaign.
