Unlike other sports or fitness regimen which require budget, time, and maintenance, running is a very inexpensive workout that we can do anytime, anywhere. However, running in the same spot over and over again can be tiresome so you might think you have to go far to run in some interesting locations. Guys, no need to worry! We’ve got you list of places around the Metro which you can explore for jogging. Best of all, all these places are free!
- Track 30th, BGC
For yuppies working in BGC, this is the perfect spot to get some exercise after work.Bonifacio Global City is home to some of Manila’s most stunning buildings but there are great spots for joggers and runners, too. Track 30th has a dedicated jogging path and there’s also space for yoga, meditation, and other forms of exercise at the lawn.
- Ayala Triangle Garden, Makati City
Amidst the busy environment of Makati CBD is Ayala Triangle which is a 1.2-kilometer space that has nature, restaurants, and dogs, which makes it the perfect hang out even after a good jog or run. For runners who work in the area, it’s the perfect place for a quick jog before or after office hours (or maybe even during your lunch break).
- UP Diliman, Quezon City
UP Diliman’s 2.2-kilometer Academic Oval is a favorite running spot because of its great backdrop for a vigorous jog or run. The university implements a car-less policy on the oval during weekends so it’s safe, smoke-free, and you can maximize your routine. Cap off your workout with some food trip on their stalls along the streets and you’ll already be looking forward to your next run.
- Filinvest City, Muntinlupa City
For people living in the South, Filinvest City is their playground as they know how fresh the air is and it is definitely one of the best places to go for a jog or a run. It’s right in the middle of the city but the sidewalks are wide enough to accommodate you while working out. What many people don’t know is that Filinvest City also has trails for mountain biking and trail running!
- Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), Roxas Boulevard
Another great jogging and running spot in Manila is the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Runners usually meet up CCP, run along Roxas Boulevard (Manila Bay side), proceed to Luneta, then go back again. The refreshing sea breeze and sunrise/sunset views are amazing. The ramp is a great spot for veterans but for those who can’t handle the incline, the CCP Complex is a great spot to get some exercise in.
So what are you waiting for? It’s time to grab those running shoes and get laced up to explore these running places for free!
