But Pat’s extraordinary abilities lead her to Eri, a former student who has been spying on the entire school for years. Pat gradually finds the school’s secret and the monster it has fostered for the past century.
2. Haunted Mansion (2015)
A girl with the ability to see ghosts spends the night in a haunted mansion with her friends, who thought it would be amusing to seek for spirits at first but quickly realized the horrifying truth. The movie follows a group of high school students who are staying in a retreat house for the night. When they learn that the retreat home is haunted, they decide to go in search of the ghosts for fun, but they quickly discover that the urban legends are reality. Film critics gave the film largely positive reviews, praising its cinematography, visual effects, production design, and musical score. The cast of the film was likewise acclaimed for their performances.
3. Kuwaresma
If you want to see a heartbreaking family narrative, you should absolutely watch this. The plot revolves around Luis Fajardo (Kent Gonzales), who comes home to Baguio to mourn the death of his twin sister. His parents, Rebecca (Sharon Cuneta) and Arturo (John Arcilla), welcome him into their family, but they remain mute about his sister’s death. This is where Luis learns the truth about her sister’s death.
4. Sunod
Be careful what job you’re entering into, you might end up like Olivia.. Olivia (Carmina Villaroel), a middle-aged single mother who is obliged to take an entry-level job in a call center for the sake of her critically ill daughter Annelle, is the desperate parent in Sunod (Krystel Bimner). Her new work, however, turns out to be a gateway to deeper difficulties when it is revealed that the ancient building where the call center is located is riddled with mysteries.
5. Banal
Do you also plan on going on a hike with your friends? Might want to check this movie and tell me if you’d still want to go on a hike after. Erika Villanueva’s mother is terminally ill. She learned of a sacred mountain where Mary’s followers had a miracle medicine that could heal all diseases from her friend Yella “Yel” De Leon. Erika recruits the help of her friends Richard “Richie” Santos, Rithea “Thea” Del Rosario, and Jesus “Mac” De Andres to hike the sacred mountain.Except for Erika, the group was possessed one night, harming Thea and Mac. The next morning, Yel was gone, and Mac and Thea were murdered by a ghostly figure. Rich learned from a group of armed men that Erika was chosen to be a demonic sacrificial offering to the God of Tumao, Ina (Mother).
6. Spirit Of The Glass 2: The Hunted (2017)
Three popular social media fashionista friends try to have some offline fun by playing with an inherited Ouija board, which opens the doors to three ghosts who have bonded with them. The spirits began pestering the three girls, unaware that they pledged to assist them in seeking justice for crimes committed years ago, forcing them to contact a blind medium to help them end the haunting. Will they be able to assist in solving the mysteries and restoring peace to everyone’s lives?
7. Dead Kids
Mark is a college freshman in the spring of 2018, and while the lady he likes, Janina, doesn’t appear to like him as much as he does her, they are friends. In addition to the girl he likes and possibly caring more about a spoiled rich kid named Chuck, Mark, at least in Mark’s eyes, lacks money. Mark is not inherently poor because he has a family connection that permits him to live in a finer home than most. However, between school and his desired future, he is unable to keep up with his peers. So, while he doesn’t necessarily want to go along with Blanco, Uy, and Gabriel’s plan to kidnap Chuck and steal money from his drug lord father, it’s difficult to say no. He may get the girl in addition to the money. However, as Uy points out repeatedly, their failure to plan results in their setting themselves up for failure.
8. Aurora (2018)
Last on the list is the film casted by Anne Curtis. This thriller movie with no screaming parts is all about the Aurora, a passenger ship, inexplicably collides with the rocky sea, threatening an entire island. A young woman and her sister must both survive by tracking down the missing dead in order to collect a bounty.
Filipino cinematography is now improving as a result of a variety of factors, including the availability of websites that allow viewers to critique the films. To be honest, while many of the aforementioned films are quite scary, there are some scenes that sadly fall short of being truly terrifying. However, that doesn’t mean you won’t come to like them as it all depends on your level of fear tolerance. Now that the Filipino creativity is skyrocketing on an international streaming platform (even other movie genres), it’s becoming more challenging to film an unusual yet wooing horror film.
