What Is Ramen Made From?

Ramen is a Japanese noodle dish that originated in Japan. Ramen broth is made from meat (chicken, pork, or beef) and water.

There are different types of ramen, including instant ramen, flavored ramen, and tonkotsu ramen. Instant ramen is just plain water mixed with wheat flour. Flavored ramen contains ingredients like soy sauce, ketchup, or mayonnaise. Tonkotsu ramen is made from pork bones and has a dark, rich flavor.

Ramen is filling, and nutritious. It’s also delicious. But most importantly, ramen is perfect for long day, Ramen is food for the soul. (too dramatic?)

But not everyone likes ramen. Some people find it bland, others find it too salty, and some just plain old hate it. In this article, I’m going to share with you my top 18 favorite ramen places in Metro Manila.

Ramen noodles are one of my favorite foods. We love eating them. But what makes them so delicious? What makes ramen noodles taste so good?

Most people think of them as cheap, salty instant noodles. But there are actually two types of ramen noodles. One is the kind that comes in the little plastic packages. Those are usually labeled “instant noodles.” The other kind of ramen noodles is has a deeper rich flavor made out of stock from animal bones (chicken, beef or pork)

So here’s what makes ramen noodles taste good.

First of all, they’re made with chicken,  pork or beef stock. The stock has a very rich flavor and distinct depending on which ramen restaurant you go to.

Second, the noodles themselves are made with wheat flour. Wheat flour gives ramen noodles a nice texture.

Third, the seasoning is very simple. There’s no MSG or anything else that makes them taste sweet. Just soy sauce and salt.

Fourth, the noodles are cooked quickly. Because the noodles are made with wheat flour, they cook up fast.

Fifth, the noodles don’t stick together. That means that you can eat them without any trouble.

Sixth, the noodles are very thin. Thin noodles mean that you can easily bite into them.

Finally, the noodles are chewy. Chewier noodles are better than softer ones. If the noodles are too soft, then you won’t be able to chew them well.

That’s what makes ramen noodle taste good.

And some ramen noodles are made with wheat starch. Others are made with corn starch.

So there are lots of different kind and each offers and presents the ramen as a work of art! Check the photos below to understand what we mean.
