Rumors have surfaced about Apple expecting a record-breaking launch for its iPhone 6S brand this coming September. According to Wall Street Journal, the company has asked suppliers to manufacture 85 to 90 million units of the two new models, iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.
While we at Manila are expecting these phones to be available by November at our local telcos (much like last year), here at Sulit we breakdown what we know so far so as to set our expectations for this big Apple event.

These leaked photos show that the new device will look the same as the iPhone 6, with all the cutouts (mic, volume buttons, earphone jack, etc.) identical as well.
The Qualcomm MDM9635M LTE chip, pictured here, is expected in the new iPhone. This new chip supports up to 300Mb/s download speed, a noticeable difference from previous iPhone generations.
Rumored Features
1.Force Touch – much like the Force Touch capabilities of the Apple Watch, the new iPhone generation is expected to carry the same functionality, together with a better Touch ID that will help reduce reading errors.
2. Better Camera – analysts have claimed that the new iPhone will have a 12-megapixel rear camera upgrade. Plus, with the recent acquisition of LinX Imaging, Apple is expected to use LinX technology which will produce DLSR-quality images (which, let’s be real, is already capable in the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus). The camera is also expected to be able to record 4K video.
3. Sapphire Display – this has been the rumor that circulated widely before the launch of the iPhone 6. While we are yet to see this to fruition, analysts are still expecting Apple to use Foxconn-produced sapphire displays.
Is it a worth it upgrade?
Ultimately, Apple loyalists will line up the stores as soon as the release of the new generation iPhones are set. But is it worth it to upgrade – especially for those who just got their iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus lines approved by the local telcos?
