TNT blows out Magnolia to take 1-0 lead in PBA Philippine Cup finals

The TNT Tropang Giga rode the red-hot shooting of rookie standout Mikey Williams to capture Game One, 88-70, over the Magnolia Hotshots in the PBA Philippine Cup finals on Wednesday at the Don Honorio Ventura State University gym in Bacolor, Pampanga.

Williams shot the lights out from beyond the arc, going 5-of-6 from rainbow country to finish with 21 points. He added 10 rebounds, five assists, and two steals as TNT got off to a strong start and never looked back.

Showing no ill effects from the grueling seven-game series they had with the San Miguel Beermen in the semifinals, TNT came out with guns blazing and led 20-2 in the first quarter. In the second, Williams put on a shooting display, making one trifecta after another to push the Tropang Giga to a 53-34 lead.
