Chooks-to-Go to reward VisMin Super Cup Southern champions with P1M

The champion of the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup Southern Finals will be going home P1,000,000 richer.

This, after Chooks-to-Go president Ronald Mascariñas announced the hefty cash prize that will go to the eventual kings of basketball in the south. The Mindanao champions Jumbo Plastic-Basilan Peace Riders and the Visayas rulers KCS Computer Specialist-Mandaue are set to do battle in a best-of-five series starting with Game One on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

“After some delays due to the ongoing pandemic, we have finally reached the Southern Finals. To reward the sacrifices of the teams and the players, we beefed up the prize money,” said Mascarin?as.

“Personally, I have been waiting for this game as the league has brought out the best in the Visayas and Mindanao regions,” added Mascarin?as.

We are happy with this partnership with Chooks-to-Go since they have supported our vision of promoting talents in the Visayas and Mindanao regions. The additional prize money will truly inspire both Basilan and KCS to do their best and put on a show,” expressed VisMin Super Cup Chief Operations Officer, Rocky Chan.

The Peace Riders have a lot of momentum going for them after they swept the Mindanao leg, going undefeated in 10 games including a 2-0 romp over the Roxas Vanguards in the Mindanao leg finals.

On the other hand, KCS will need to find its rhythm after it last played in May when it trumped the heavily-favored MJAS Zenith-Talisay in Game Three to win the Visayas leg. In addition, KCS also lost its three best players in Finals MVP Ping Exciminiano, top scorer Gryann Mendoza, and perimeter sniper Al Francis Tamsi, all of whom are now playing in the PBA.

Regardless of who the victor will be, Mascariñas said all of the players are already champions in their own right.

“It does not matter who wins the championship. In our hearts, they are all champions inspiring their respective basketball fans in the Visayas and Mindanao,” said Mascarin?as.
