San-En bests Niigata Albirex in B.League as Filipino ballers have quiet afternoons

The San-En NeoPhoenix repulsed the Niigata Albirex BB, 85-82, to snatch their first home win in the 2021-22 B.League season on Sunday at the Hamamatsu Arena.

The two Filipinos on both sides have quiet performances, and in the end, it was Ravena’s team that came out on top to even their win-loss record at 2-2 for the season. The high-flying wingman finished with 13 points, nine rebounds and two assists.

Robert Carter led the way for San-En with 22 points, 10 of which came in the fourth period when Niigata Albirex tried to rally from an 11-point deficit. Up, 61-50, in the fourth, the Niigata Albirex rallied and pulled to within two, after a deuce by Yuto Nohmi. However, San-En was not rattled and sealed the win with a triple from Yoshiyuki Matsuwaki and two free-throws from Carter.

Rosco Allen led Niigata Albirex with 24 points, 13 boards, and six assists as the team fell to an even 2-2 early in the season. Kobe Paras had 11 points, three rebounds and three assists while battling foul trouble all-game long.
