Limitless App rules Leg 6, captures back-to-back PBA 3×3 titles

The Limitless App got the best of TNT once again, winning 21-18 in the Leg 6 finals to emerge as the first back-to-back title winner in the PBA 3×3 tournament on Tuesday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Jorey Napoles brought his A-game in the titular joust, scoring seven points including a rare three-point play with under two minutes left that put Limitless in front for good en route to capturing the crown and the P100,000 that came with it.

Napoles got solid support from Reymar Caduyac who had six, Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser who tallied five, and Marvin Hayes who chipped in three.

Limitless got off to a fast start and led 11-6. However, trouble came when Hayes injured his ankle at the 4:34 mark, landing on the foot of TNT’s Chris Javier during a rebounding battle.

TNT quickly took advantage to tie the score at 13-all with two minutes remaining. With the game hanging in the balance, Napoles came through, scoring a basket while getting fouled by TNT’s Lervin Flores. With TNT already in the penalty, Napoles then canned two free-throws to give Limitless a 16-13 lead.

Hayes then returned and even scored a two-pointer to give Limitless an 18-13 lead. TNT, though, hung around but Napoles held them at bay, scoring a free-throw with seven seconds remaining to seal the win and the title for Limitless.

Up next for this tournament is the Grand Finals on December 29 at the same venue.
